Austin Davis

We celebrate the Life and Legacy of Austin Jamel Maurice Davis, affectionately known as TK for "True King". He was born on March 29, 1998, in Kansas City, MO, to Annisa Davis and Toryne Sanders. 

Austin's arrival marked a significant milestone for his family, the King Family, as he was the first boy born into his mother's side of the family in 44 years. His birth brought joy and a renewed sense of honor to his family. 

From an early age, Austin embraced his faith, accepting Christ and being baptized at the tender age of 8. He actively participated in the life of Cleveland Avenue Baptist Church, lending his voice to the children's choir and gracing the stage in church plays. Throughout his life, he sought spiritual guidance from various congregations, nurturing his connection with God. 

Growing up in Raytown, MO, Austin pursued his education at Raytown South High School, where he not only excelled academically but also showcased his athletic prowess in baseball, football, wrestling, and mixed martial arts. 

Austin was not just a participant in sports; he was a mentor and advocate for children facing the scourge of bullying, drawing from his own experiences of overcoming adversity. He was a staunch believer in conflict resolution through dialogue, eschewing violence and embodying the spirit of a Gentle Giant. 

His love for music transcended genres, earning him the reputation of an old soul. Whether he was singing Sam Cooke's "A Change is Coming" in quiet moments or cruising down the highway with country tunes, music was a constant companion in Austin's life. 

Family held a special place in Austin's heart. As the eldest sibling, he embraced his role as a big brother with love and dedication, fostering unique bonds with each of his siblings. His positive outlook on life and unwavering encouragement uplifted all who knew him. 

Austin's entrepreneurial spirit shone bright from a young age, establishing his first business, Austin's All-Star Lawn Service, at the age of 12. He was a skilled craftsman, honing his talents in home remodeling alongside his father and grandfather. His culinary skills, nurtured by his mother's event coordinating business, led him to successful stints in catering, including at The Intercontinental Hotel. 

Music was not just a passion but a means of self-expression for Austin, with his soulful singing voice and unique rap style leaving a lasting impression on those around him. His infectious smile and hearty laughter touched hearts wherever he went. 

Above all, Austin's greatest joy and accomplishment was being a devoted father to his beloved son, Josiah Amauri, whom he cherished dearly. His carefree spirit and unwavering resilience in the face of adversity will forever be remembered. 

Austin was preceded in death by his maternal grandfather, Annise Davis Jr., great grandfathers Annise Davis Sr. and Hubert A. King, maternal great grandmother Loretta King, paternal great grandmothers Nadine Jackson and Grace Sanders, and Uncle Steven Thornton. 

He leaves behind a legacy cherished by many: his mother Annisa Davis and father Toryne Sanders; his Son Josiah Davis (Shaniyah); Sisters Jodi Davis-Green, Jade Davis, and Myaunna Davis-Brand; Brothers Terron Sanders Jr., Gabriel Johnson, and William Sanders; Grandmothers Matricia Davis and Kimberly Harris; Grandfather Darryl Sanders (Mahausha Sanders); Godmother’s Anteria Pratt and Monique Robinson; Aunts Leyana Shelton, Sherry Lerma, Anna Davis-Thorton, Laquinda Stumon, Luciana Santiago-Lewis, and Leann Sanders; uncles Jason Symonds, Andrew Parker-Davis, Kevin Knight, Darryl Sanders Jr., and Daniel Sanders; honorable brotherhood Shekiel Robinson and Ian Tutorino; special cousin Makayla Davis; and a host of loving relatives. 

Austin's spirit, his light, and his indomitable warrior's soul will forever remain in the hearts of those he touched. He will never be forgotten.
