Arthur Davis, 70, was born December 14, 1950, to Carrie and James Davis in Memphis, Tennessee. He is preceded in death by 3 brothers, Elton Davis, Alandis Davis, and Lenory Davis, and 1 sister, Brooksie Lloyd.
He attended and graduated from Northside High School in Memphis, Tennessee where he majored in Music. He attended the University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff (UAPB) where he earned a Bachelor of Arts degree majoring in Music Education. He was a Drum Major in the band while attending UAPB. He moved to Kansas City, Missouri in 1977 from Memphis, Tennessee. He worked in the food industry, public school system, photography, and car sales while living in Kansas City.
He was affectionately known around town as “Mr. President'' through his work as a photographer and music producer with a studio in his home. He was well liked by many, had a kind heart, gentle smile, and an infectious laugh. When asked by others how he was doing his favorite remark was, “I’m doing okay and yourself?” His favorite hobbies were fishing with his sons, listening, writing, and producing music, photography, bar-b-quing, and selling cars.
He leaves to cherish his memory: one sister, Glennest Reynolds of Forrest City, Arkansas; his ex-wife, Virginia Davis; two sons, Damon Davis, and Terrell (Wilma) Davis; 5 grandkids, Annissa, Dallas, Ella, Emerald, and Layla; and a host of friends and other relatives. As the patriarch of the family, he will be greatly missed, but never forgotten. His soul is in heaven, but his spirit will forever walk amongst us protecting and guiding us through life’s journeys.
