In 1959, Anthony Dwayne Guthrie was born to Eare Jean Williams and James Thomas Guthrie in St. Louis, Missouri and grew up in Centerville, Illinois. In his early years, he attended school in Cahokia Senior High School and went on to attend Western Illinois University. He then joined the United States Armed Force December 1978 and served as an Air Traffic Control Craftsman for 22 years and 3 moths, retiring 2003. He served long and short tours to Italy, Turkey, and other countries and earned an Air Force Achievement Medal with 2 OCLS, a joint Service Achievement Medal, an Air Force Commendation Medal, and many other awards.
Anthony Guthrie was a loving person with the biggest smile. He had no problem with telling anyone what to do. He enjoyed watching all sports and favored the St. Louis Rams and KC Chiefs football teams. He also loved the St. Louis Cardinals and KC Royals baseball teams.
Anthony DeWayne Guthrie has gained his wings at the age of 62. His death is preceded by his mother: Eare Jean Williams; father: James Thomas Guthrie; and brother: Remmone Guthrie.
He is succeeded by his brother: Brian Guthrie; sister- in-law: MahLee Guthrie, Vickie Guthrie, Renando Renee Ferguson; sons: Anthony DeWayne Lontrez Guthrie, and Antaurean Jewel Thomas Guthrie; grandchildren: ZeNaya Mechelle Guthrie, Joshua Mxzchael Haskins, Anna Marie Green, and a host of uncles, aunts, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
