Andre’ Dai’Juan Harrison, the only child of Patricia Viola Harrison and George Andre’ Williams, was born on July 27, 1976 in Kansas City, MO. Although he was an only child, his cousins became his brothers and sisters, forming close knit relationships and bonds. He was the grandson of the late Benjamin and Georgia Viola Harrison and was preceded in death by one uncle, Larry Harrison.
Andre’s early childhood education began in the Kansas City School District and at Saint Martin De Porres School in Kansas City, MO. At the age of 10 years old, Andre moved to Warrensburg, MO. to reside with his grandparents. There he attended Ridgeview Elementary, Warrensburg Junior and Senior High Schools. Upon high school graduation, Andre’ attended CMSU, where he earned a bachelor’s degree in Business Management. Andre was a proud member of the Iota Phi Theta Fraternity, Incorporated, where he formed a lifelong bond and shared the love of brotherhood with all of his fraternity brothers.
He accepted Christ as his personal savior and was baptized at Shiloh Missionary Baptist Church in Warrensburg, MO. Andre’ then joined Trinity Temple Church of God In Christ, under the leadership of Bishop W.B. Henderson, in Grandview, MO. Later, while residing in Lee’s Summit, MO., he attended New Generation Christian Center.
Andre’ worked as a Career Development Executive for the Full Employment Council (FEC), where he enjoyed working with the youth, encouraging each one of them to strive to be their very best. Later he began his 15+ year career with Evergy (formerly KCP&L) where he held positions as a Lineman-Splicer Journeyman, Lead Lineman, and had been working as a Field Construction Supervisor for the past year. In these roles, Andre’ discovered his true passion and love for his work, where he was a member of the union, IBEW Local 1464 International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers. He enjoyed many conversations with his coworkers, while forming lasting friendships.
On March 8, 2003, Andre’ married his high school sweetheart, his true love, Dawn Collins. To this union, two children were born and loved deeply, Cierra and Cirron, their pride and joy. Andre’ adored Dawn, Cierra and Cirron, and loving them made him a happy man!
Andre’ loved his family, friends and sports. He had a passion for coaching youth sports, where he poured his love into teaching and encouraging them to enjoy football, basketball and softball. Andre’ found the most joy in watching Cierra and Cirron play and develop their own passion for the game. He was a jack of all trades and anything he put his mind to, he would find a way to make it happen.
He leaves to cherish his beautiful and loving wife, Dawn Harrison, one daughter, Cierra Harrison, one son, Cirron Harrison, of the home, Lee’s Summit, MO; Mother, Patricia V.
