Amos Thompson Jr. was born on August 7, 1964, to the union of Amos and Luvina Thompson in Steele, Missouri. Known to all that loved him as “Jr.”. He attended high school and college in the Kansas City area. He was employed by the Kansas City Star as well as KC Masterpiece.
Jr. loved singing, joking, and spending time with his kids and other family. He was a father figure to many and always there for those in need. He loved all his nieces and nephews and had a special relationship with all of them.
Jr. was preceded in death by his parents Amos and Luvina Thompson, brother: Roy Lee Marshall; sister: Jennifer Thompson; and nephews Antonio Thompson and Jason William.
Amos departed this life on July 8, 2021, and will be truly missed by all that knew him. He leaves to cherish his memory his children: Maria Crosby, Montez Turner (Misti), Sherita William, Johntez Turner, Amos Thompson III, Drakkar Thompson (Rebecca), Ashia Thompson, Bobb’e Thompson, and Jaya Thompson; grandchildren: Mark Crosby, A’nylah Jackman, Savion Crosby, Tyran Strong, Promise Thompson, Andrew Howard, Izaiah Thompson, Zaneta Thompson, and one unborn grandson; siblings: Marzetta Machon, Anna Gravely, Melvin Marshall, William Marshall, Sadie Preston, Virgil Marshall, Rosemary Booker, Tony Thompson, James Thompson, Mary Thompson, and Faye Thompson; close friend/ honorary brother: Robert Bryant Jr. (Tink) and a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins.
