Alberta Jeanette Darthard Rhodes - born on September 27, 1966 in Marshall, TX to Willie B. Johnson Darthard and Theodiest Darthard. Her parents and uncles preceded her in death.
She was called AJ, Baby Girl and Jeanette by family and friends. She was the youngest of nine children. The family move to Kansas City when she was 2 years old in 1968. She loved to pray, cook, and help anyone she could. She would cook and ask if you wanted a plate, she enjoys bringing it to you. She was a loving mother and grandmother.
She joined Memorial under the Leadership of Pastor T.B. Baker later under Apostle Larry B. and Pastor Olivia C.Q. Aiken. She worked on the Usher Board and the Kitchen Ministry. She worked for Kansas City Missouri School District as a school bus driver until her health failed. Alberta was a graduate of South East High School class of 84".
She leaves to cherish her memory: Fiancé Carton Beasley; two daughters: Demetria Darthard and Cor'Taya Fletcher; two grandchildren: Alonis Simpson and Kira Simpsons; children she raised or helped raised: Christana Johnson, Chris Tevis and Shawniece Byson are just a few to name; four brothers: W. Gerald Darthard, Otis T Johnson Darthard, Oscar Darthard, Theodiest Darthard Jr.; four sisters: Wilma J. King, Lucinda A Jackson, Willie Ann Murphy, and Mary Ann Cannon (Todd); a host of nieces, nephews and cousins, special friends: Rose Rhodes, Martha Fletcher, Andrew Matthew and Cortez Fletcher; along with church family and friends.
