Sharon Diane King was born October 16, 1952 to Larnell and Barbara McDonald. Sharon transitioned to her heavenly father September 24, 2019. Both parents, one son Thomas F. King III, two brothers Donald Martin and David McDonald proceeded her in death.
Sharon received her education in the Kansas City, MO. Public School System. She graduated from Westport High School in 1970. Sharon met and married Thomas F. King Jr in1973, they were blessed with two sons, Darryl L. King Sr. and Thomas F. King III.
Sharon worked for The City of Kansas City for several years. Later she drove for various school bus companies for 15 years. In 2000 Sharon started driving for St. Marks Child and Family Development Center, which she did for 5 years. Sharon loved children so much, she opened her in home daycare. She ran until her health began to fail her.
Sharon accepted Christ at an early age. She was baptized at Pilgrims Rest Baptist Church. She later joined Mount Joy Baptist Church. She rededicated her life back to Christ in 2016. Sharon was definitely a child of God.
Sharon was a Luther Vandross fan for life. She loved her Soap Opera, The Young and the Restless and her Westerns. Her number one joy was spending time with her 2-year-old great grandbaby Nyla, whom she affectionately called “Bossy”.
Sharon leaves to cherish her wonderful memories, one son Darryl L. King Sr. (Michelle), one brother Larnell McDonald Jr. (Kimah), four sisters; Judith Martin, Karen Patrick(Ray) Barbara Parrish (Maurice) Melinda McDonald, one grandson Darryl L. King Jr, one grand daughter De’Anna Manning, one great granddaughter Nyla M. King, a niece she raised Amber McDonald, three aunts, one uncle, a host of nieces, nephews and friends, a loyal and loving friend, who made sure she got to her doctor’s appointments Benita Carter.
