Robert B. Williams, Jr. was born February 23, 1937 in Creston, Louisiana to Robert and Bethel Williams. He was the second of nine children.
Robert accepted Christ at an early age. He attended school in the Louisiana School District.
He moved to Texas and lived there for a few years. He then left Texas and moved to Kansas City, Missouri. Robert worked construction for over 30 years until he retired. After retirement he started his own lawn service until he was no longer able to work.
Robert had been married three times. His first wife was Marie Carson, they were married in 1959. To that union they had one daughter, Regina Williams. Later that marriage was dissolved. He then married Gracie Hamilton in 1966 and to that union one daughter was born, Connie Owens. This marriage also was later dissolved. He then married Almeta Williams in 1983 and helped raise her daughter Jocelyn as his own.
Robert loved fishing with his family and friends.
He departed this life on Friday, July 19, 2019 at 9:00 p.m. with his daughter Connie by his side. He was preceded in death by his father, Robert Williams, Sr., mother, Bethel Williams, sisters: Dossie R. Washington and Doris J. Gantt; wife, Almeta Williams.
Robert leaves to cherish his memory: his daughters: Connie (Larcenia) Owens of Topeka, Kansas, Regina Williams of Marietta, Georgia and Brenda Gleese of Kansas City, Missouri; step-children: Bridget Walker of Kansas City, Kansas, Artemis Walker and Jocelyn Allen both of Kansas City, Missouri; grandchildren: Ciara Murray, Justin Owens, Tesha Lewis-Fernandez, Kaori Allen, Jordan Allen and Kadance Allen; great-grandchildren: Gracie Neal and Brett Neal, III; two brothers: Melvin Thomas of Detroit, Michigan and Arthur Lee (Shirley) Williams of Kansas City, Missouri; four sisters: Edna Johnson of Campti, Louisiana, Lelia Singleton of Kansas City, Missouri, Bertha (Levon) Eichelberger of Grandview, Missouri and Josephine (Vondorse) Lee of Kansas City, Missouri. Along with a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
