Michelle Nanette McGautha, was born on October 14, 1955 in Kansas City, Kansas to the union of Milton George McGautha, Sr., and Rosie Marie (Conway) McGautha. Michelle, known as Shelly, was educated in the Kansas City School District. She graduated from Central Sr. High School; the “Mighty Blue Eagles”, Class of 1973. Shelly accepted Jesus Christ as her Lord and Savior at an early age under the Pastoral leadership of Rev. Otis Lloyd at Mt. Carmel Missionary Baptist Church, where she remained a member.
This loving and caring person, known her fancy hair-dos, wore her high-heel shoes, and her exotic perfume, was also called “The Diva”. She loved singing, two-stepping, family events, and traveling. Michelle was called a mother to many, but she gave birth to two children, Aaron L. McGautha, and Aunika L. McGautha, both father by Andrew L. Pilgram.
Michelle worked over 30 years combined with the Internal Revenue service and the United States Postal Service. After life happenings, Michelle’s resident was the Kansas City South Nursing Home, where she was called home to glory on January 6, 2020.
Michelle was preceded in death by her father, Milton George McGautha, Sr.; her brother, Milton George (Gee) MeGautha Jr.’ her sister, Marjorie Gail McGautha,; and her son, Aaron Lamont McGautha.
Michelle leaves behind her mother, Rosie M. McGautha; her sisters, Marvia McGautha, Melvin Mustin, and Marilyn Sample; one brother, Marvin McGautha; her daughter, Aunika McGautha; her grandchildren, Harron, Treasure, Diamond; her great-grandchildren, twins Kendell and Alaia; and a host of other family, friends, and neighbors.
