Edward Harris Jr, 85, passed away on October 3, 2019 at home in Kansas City MO. He was born on June 7, 1934 in Tuckerman, Arkansas to Edward Harris Sr. and Calistra Harris. He grew up in Newport Arkansas. He graduated from Tuckerman High School. He began work for Faddis Motor Company as a Retailer. He retired in 1988 after 23 years. He married Carrie Mae Glenn on
March 20, 1954 in Newport Arkansas. They were happily married for 65 years. Edward was a very wise man; family oriented, and very protective of his children. He always worked very hard and was both fun and resilient.
He enjoyed his family time, taking care of the home, and just being a father and grandfather. From his garden to the kitchen, whether he was riding his lawnmower or fixing on something (being a handyman), when it came to living life, he did exactly just that. He loved for people to come over, sit on the couch, and receive the knowledge that he had to share. If you were one of those people, consider yourself LUCKY!
“Every man’s life ends the same way. It is only the details of how he lived and how he died that distinguish one man from another.”
He was preceded in death by his parents, Edward Harris Sr. and Calistra Harris; his sons, Marcus Harris Jr., and George B. Harris; his brother, Leroy Harris; his two sisters, Alma Mabin, and Letrica Rowe; and two grandsons, Marcus Harris Jr. Omar Wilson.
He is survived by his wife Carrie Mae Harris; Carl E Harris (Rachel), Patricia Coker (Darrell), Randolph Harris (Deborah) Enjoli Harris.
