Ned Haywood Obituary

Ned Vardale Haywood, 57, of Kansas City, Missouri passed away on Wednesday, May 17, 2017 in Kansas City, Missouri. He was preceded in death by his parents, Hosea and Elizabeth Haywood, Sr., son, Antwon Haywood, brothers, Hosea Jr., and Dan Haywood, and sister, Barbara Williams.

Ned was born September 10, 1959 to Hosea Sr., and Elizabeth Haywood. “Dale,” as he was affectionately called, attended Paseo High School and later received his General Education Degree.

In 1979 he married, Minzola Davis and to that union, (3) children were born, Dale Cornelius, Demond Vardale, and Antwon Dontae Haywood. Although the marriage dissolved in 1998, he and Minzola remained good friends.

Dale worked as a roofer and did various home improvement jobs. He enjoyed skating, fishing and was a “Two Stepper” to his heart. He won the last two crowns at the Burney Family Reunions.

Dale was the youngest of six (6) children. He grew up with his nieces and nephews. They looked up to him, as an older protective brother, because they were so close in age. Dale’s favorite saying was, “Hey, You Got A Dollar?”

He leaves to cherish his memory his two sons, Dale C. Haywood and Demond Haywood; two sisters, Louise (Charles) Haywood-Davis, and Dorothy (James) Robertson; two grandchildren: Demond C. Haywood and Dalshonna Haywood; five great-grandchildren, Breahaana, Bently, Braxton, Jace, and La'lyce; a special friend, Percelia Lora and host of nephews, nieces, cousins, other relatives and friends.
