Mr. Willie E. Williamham, was born on October 25, 1952, to Ruby Lee Willingham in Glendora, Mississippi. He was preceded in death by his mother, and both brothers, Robert, Jr. and James Skinner.
Willie accepted the Lord at an early age. He attended school in the Kansas City, MO School District where he graduated from Manual High School in 1970.
Willie started working for Southwestern Bell (now AT&T) at the young age of 17 in Kansas City, MO.
He later transferred to St. Louis, Missouri in August 1990. Throughout his career he held many roles and positions. He retired as a Senior Communication Analyst in January 2009 after 40 years of service. Realizing retirement life was not for him, he started working for Wells Fargo as a Security Guard in 2010 and eventually retired for good in 2020.
In 1973, Willie begun his D.J. career along with three other friends. They were known as D.J's of Class. They were one of the top four mobile D.J. groups in the Kansas City community. Willie, AKA
"Willie D" continued to D.J. well into the mid-90's. In addition to his love for music, he loved playing basketball. On any given Saturday, you could find him on the basketball court hooping with friends.
Willie loved people! He was kind and open-hearted and would often go out of his way to help others. He never met a stranger. His character spoke volumes to who he was as a person.
He leaves to cherish in his memory: his devoted daughter, Angela (Richard, Jr) Hillman, two granddaughters, DeAndrea and Brianna Chatmon, two great-granddaughters, DeVeigha and Kristin Chatmon; two special cousins HD Willingham and Josephine Nash, best friend John Taylor, and a host of cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends. It's not goodbye but see you later.
